Graphic Design – Bandana
According to Wikipedia a bandana is a triangular or square cloth tied around your head or neck. I agree with this. It could also be tied up on your leg, hand or anywhere you want. The popularity of the bandana was highest in the 1980’s and 1990’s, it’s gender neutral and could be worn by anyone, male or female.
Bandana was also used and maybe is still used as sign of some gang communication or identification. Different colors can be associated with different gangs and their members.
But mostly a bandana is worn to hold the hair back or as a more stylish headband. It could be found in all kinds of different shapes and colors. And also there are many types of graphical pictures or drawings that could be placed on a bandana.
The better the graphical design on it, the more interesting it is and more attention it will draw. Some people wear it because it goes along with their clothes, or as a representation of a fashionable person.
There are many graphical designs which could go on a bandana but the most famous are the white skeletons, marijuana drawings in various ways and text and letters that describe marijuana. Also some of the drawings which could be found are flowers and mostly red roses.
But there are several other types of bandana designs that aren’t too noticeable or do not provoke as much as those with skeletons or marijuana drawings. For example there are representations of different colors, lines and shapes that go with white, red, pink or yellow bandanas. Also black drawings that look like a tattoo, or some kind of uncertain scribble that gives it a fashionable and cool look.
And that’s why most people wear them.
